The 1990 historic founding sponsors of the I “Have A Dream” Committee include the Baha’i Community of Loudoun, Bluemont Concert Series, Douglass Alumni Association, and the NAACP Loudoun Branch. Individuals, families, schools, businesses, civic, and religious organizations are all welcome to participate both in person and virtually in this year’s March and Celebration.
In 2021, the organization restructured. The Dr. Martin Luther King Day March and Celebration historic celebration is now under the leadership of the newly formed MLK Diversity-Engagement Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit. In 2022 we marked the 31st Anniversary of the march and celebration, one of the largest and oldest in the region.
The MLK Diversity-Engagement Foundation is organized exclusively for focusing on the dream of achieving racial equality and harmony in our community and nation by promoting and disseminating the philosophy and principles of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The Foundation carries out such other activities as may be necessary or useful in the furtherance of these purposes in accordance with Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The Foundation provides community programs, aid to foundations, student scholarship, helps others and works with youth and adults on panels and community service needs.
