Each year, as part of its annual celebration and focus on youth and education, the MLK Diversity-Engagement Foundation administers the Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarships Program. These scholarships help to fund a portion of the college tuition for deserving Loudoun County graduating students, regardless of race or ethnicity. Each year, the MLK Diversity-Engagement Foundationawards a scholarship annually to a senior high school student.
A student considered for one of the year’s $ 1,000 MLK Community Service scholarships, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

The above-required documents may be submitted completely for the application to be considered for the MLK Community Service Scholarship. It is best if they are submitted together, however Recommendations can be sent separately based on school policy.
The above-required documents can be submitted completely in one of the following methods:
** Please Note: If candidates select the mail option, the completed application must be postmarked no later than Friday prior to December 15, 2023.
Scholarship applications are evaluated by a scholarship subcommittee of the MLK Diversity-Engagement Foundation. The scholarship evaluation committee considers the student applicant Application, Essay, Transcript Grades, Community Service history, and Recommendations submitted on behalf of the student.

Congratulations to our 2023 MLK Diversity Engagement Foundation Community Service Scholarship recipients Mr. Michael Jenkins and Ms. Esha Venkat. Each student was awarded $1,000.00 towards their college education.
